Summer Youth Tennis Camps
You can still get your children into some great youth tennis opportunities this summer.
Amador Tennis Club is teaming up with the City of Jackson and Brad Harris, Men's Tennis Coach at Sierra College
to offer two 2-day camps in Jackson this summer. The first is THIS WEEKEND, July 11-12, and the second is August 1-2.
Open to kids ages 5-14, the sessions will focus on tennis fundamentals, stroke production and FUN.
Snacks and water will be provided each day.
Download the flyer and registration form. (No need to mail the registration form
for this weekend's camp; just hand carry it to the event).
Additionally, The Court Works in Calaveras County is offering seven week-long sessions. Download the Court Works brochure and registration form.
Jr. Team Tennis Returns This Fall
Our next season of USTA Junior Team Tennis will take place from September 13-October 18. Please mark your calendars now and help us spread the word.
Every season, we hear from parents who didn't know about this wonderful way for kids to learn tennis.
Co-ed teams ages 7-15 will play doubles tennis in three ability levels: beginning, intermediate and advanced. Beginners use foam balls and
a short court format, intermediates play full court with low-compression balls, and advanced is regular doubles play with
rotation of teammates. No tennis experience is necessary and this is a great opportunity for beginners to learn to play the game in a fun, team setting.
Registration will open in August, so watch your email and our web site for more information.
If you would like to volunteer to with the league as a coach, organizer or "support staff", please email us
so we can include you in the planning sessions which are already underway. This league is entirely run by volunteers, so we appreciate your support!
Amador World Team Tennis Update
Amador's World Team Tennis season is underway. Four teams will play through mid-August and keep track of
total games won, thus allowing us to crown a victor.
You may still be able to get involved as a substitute player, or certainly as a spectator to heckle...er, cheer... on your favorite
local players. This is a relaxed no-ad format, with each “match” consisting of 5 events: Men and Women’s singles; Men and Women’s doubles; Mixed Doubles.
We hope to continue this league in the Fall, so contact us
if you're interested or you want more details.
Join Us for Drop-In Tennis
Join us for free social tennis on a weekly, year-round basis. Adults of all levels, high school players and advanced junior players are welcome.
We play mixed/assorted doubles, singles, triples and even fives if necessary
(mostly doubles; depends on how many show up). Wednesday and Friday evenings starting about 5:30pm at Argonaut High School, Jackson.
No partner necessary, but please bring balls!
